A day of Action to Remember Nature will be taking place between 10.00 and 16.00 at The Whittaker Art Gallery in Rawtenstall, Lancashire on 4th November 2023.
Phil Barton is being supported by The Whittaker to develop a Day of Action and has issued a call for local artists and environmentalists to join him in creating one or more art works to Remember Nature. On the day other activities are in development and there will be a film showing of Can I Live? by Complicite, followed by a discussion on climate change and climate justice. More details from The Whitaker as they are published and on this website.
In organising Days of Action to Remember Nature on 4th November, Barton follows the challenge of the late auto-destructive artist, Gustav Metzger, who first issued his worldwide action for Artists to Remember Nature on 4th November 2015 on The Street at Central Saint Martins, London.
Phil has previously organised Days of Action to Remember Nature on 4th November – in 2017 at Islington Mill, Salford, 2019 on The Street at Central Saint Martins College, London and 2021 in Launceston Town Square, Cornwall.
