Our outgoing AA2A artists have this year produced an extensive body of work, sharing skills and knowledge, and contributing to the teaching and research across our school and wider university. As the final part of their residency our artists will be showcasing their practice and works in an exhibition simply titled – PRACTICE.
‘PRACTICE’ is defined as the application or use of an idea, belief, or method; in this exhibition ‘PRACTICE’ signifies the creative approach underpinning the processes and developing artistic excellence informing the design and creation of new artworks during 2022-2023 Artist Access to Art Colleges (AA2a) residencies.
Our resident artists in 2022-2023 were:
‘PRACTICE’ demonstrates the possibilities of contemporary practice beyond the perceived limitations of traditional processes creating new artworks exploring combinations of ceramics, print, textiles, performance, and installation.
Historically, within both Printmaking and Ceramics there has always been a sense of innovation, discovery, adaptation, resolution, and development. Working within a culture of research and innovation links between print and ceramics at UCLan continues to push boundaries across both disciplines.
